Founded by Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita, known for its avant-garde designs and artistic sensibility. Born in 1973 in Tokyo, Japan, Miyashita studied fashion design at the Vantan Design Institute before embarking on his career in the fashion industry. In 1997, he launched his first brand, Number (N)ine, which quickly gained acclaim for its edgy and innovative designs. However, in 2009, Miyashita shuttered Number (N)ine to focus on his new venture, The Soloist. The brand made its debut during Paris Fashion Week in 2010, showcasing Miyashita's distinctive aesthetic characterized by a blend of punk, grunge, and military influences.
