PRADA

Prada, the iconic Italian fashion house, was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada in Milan. Initially, Prada primarily focused on luxury leather goods, including handbags and luggage. Mario's granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, born in 1949, inherited the family business in the late 1970s and played a pivotal role in transforming Prada into a global fashion powerhouse. Miuccia, a former mime artist with a Ph.D. in political science, injected a fresh perspective into the brand, challenging traditional notions of femininity and luxury. In 1985, she unveiled her first ready-to-wear collection, characterized by clean lines, minimalist designs, and luxurious fabrics, which marked the beginning of Prada's ascent to international prominence. Miuccia's avant-garde approach to fashion, coupled with her innovative use of materials and bold experimentation with prints and textures, earned her a reputation as one of the most influential designers of her generation.
