HISTORY
Released in Spring/Summer 2003, “Consumed” was presented by Raf Simons as a direct examination of youth existing within consumer society. Rather than positioning itself as anti-consumerist, the collection explored the dual condition of being both the consumer and the consumed. Harnesses, straps, and control-oriented constructions replaced overt slogans, translating social systems into physical form. This bondage parachute jacket stands as one of the collection’s most explicit structural expressions, articulating restraint, regulation, and division through garment architecture alone, without reliance on text or graphic messaging.
