Released for Autumn/Winter 1999 during Helmut Lang’s tenure as creative director, these trousers reflect the designer’s late-1990s exploration of utilitarian and restraint-inspired details within a minimalist framework. The season is noted for its incorporation of functional hardware, modular construction, and references to military and industrial garments, presented with Lang’s precise tailoring and subdued palette.
