Introduced in the 2010s under Rei Kawakubo, the PVC-encased paper tote reworked the brand’s own shopping bag into a durable, reusable accessory. Presented across various COMME des GARÇONS lines, the design reflects Kawakubo’s long-standing interest in material subversion and the elevation of everyday objects.
