Born in Belgium, Yee studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 1988, along with several other influential designers, Yee became part of the "Antwerp Six," a collective that gained international recognition for their innovative and unconventional approach to fashion. Yee's designs were characterized by their experimental construction, intricate detailing, and playful use of textures and fabrics. In 1993, she launched her eponymous label, showcasing collections that pushed the boundaries of traditional fashion and embraced individuality.
